Car Carrier under COSCO SHIPPING Specialized Carriers Finishes Maiden Voyage to CSP Abu Dhabi Container Terminal

news-details

On April 4, local time, COSCO SHENG SHI, a PCTC operated by Guangzhou Ocean Car Carrier (GOCC), a joint venture with COSCO SHIPPING, SIPG Logistics, and SAIC Anji Logistics, departed from Haitong Terminal in Shanghai with 3,417 China-made commercial vehicles on board. After a 19-day voyage, it successfully berthed at its first unloading port, CSP ABU Dhabi Container Terminal. It was the first time for the terminal to receive and unload a PCTC. After about 12 hours of intensive operation, 1,125 commercial vehicles were unloaded from the vessel, as the terminal may provide a new and convenient landing point for Chinese brand cars to go global.

In order to ensure smooth unloading, the terminal completed the online declaration of the cargo information in advance before the arrival of the carrier. COSCO SHIPPING Lines West Asia also helped complete the ship's entry and exit operations and berthing procedures so that cargo handling could be started immediately after the ship reached the shore to realize a seamless connection of different logistics nodes.

To better protect the cargoes in the handling process, GOCC specially arranged a terminal captain to fly to the site and guide the field workers through the berthing operations and unloading of the cargoes. After about 12 hours of intensive work, 1,125 commercial vehicles were successfully unloaded from the ship.

As the world's largest specialized carrier company under COSCO SHIPPING, COSCO SHIPPING Specialized Carriers has always adhered to the concept of "customer-centric" service and actively coordinated the internal and external resources of COSCO SHIPPING to provide customers with more efficient, more excellent, more stable and more flexible supply chain and logistics services for commercial vehicles transportation.
